Church Life > Youth Groups
Walton has a great group of young people who bring ideas, incredible vitality, energy, enthusiasm and fun to the life of the church. We are grateful for them sharing their gifts of music, drama, friendship and caring.
We have two separate groups- The Junior Youth Group – “Illumination” and The Senior Youth Group.
Our Junior Youth Group – “Illumination” is a terrific group of young people. This group is for grades 6-8, who are actively learning and growing in their faith through social interaction, fun activities, praying for each other, and learning God’s word.
We meet weekly, Friday nights 7 – 9pm and during Sunday School 9:30-10:30 on Sunday mornings to talk, have snacks, work on activities happening at Walton, or do outings like Lazertag, Cornmaze, Mini-putt, games nights, etc. For more information or updates, please contact Val Waldron through the church office or email.
Our senior youth group is designed for teenagers in grade 9-12. We get together every Friday night for activities, have discussions, watch movies or just have fun. Every Sunday morning the youth are invited to join our Teen Talk during the 9:30 service. Other events available for this group include weekend retreats, one in the fall and a summer camping trip.
The Youth are absolutely vital to the survival of the church and finding new and creative ways to engage them is not the task of one person. The senior youth are blessed with a group of young adults who volunteer their time to help these young people explore their faith in a non-threatening environment.
The members of the Walton Senior Youth are helping this program to evolve into something that can meet their spiritual needs. This world can be lonely and there are few places left that desire to bring deep spirituality into the lives of young people; Walton hopes to be one of those rare places.
